4h) Handing Off Properly to Group Classes
1. Capture a Picture of the Athlete
Take a picture or a 'sweaty selfie' of the athlete after their last session.
If a picture isn't possible, try to find one on social media.
2. Send an Email to Staff
Subject line: Use the athlete's name and status (e.g., 'New Client Jeff Bennett').
Body of the email should include:
Brief overview of their goals (e.g., weight loss, muscle building, health).
Details about their body biomechanics and movement (e.g., tight hips, lower back issues).
Athlete's temperament (e.g., outgoing or shy) and comparative clients they resemble.
3. Set Up Class Pairings
Suggest class partners for the athlete (e.g., pairing with Sam Lofton and Alex Wenzel).
Note the athlete's preferred class time (e.g., 6:30 a.m.).
4. Confirm First Class Details
Include the date and time of the athlete's first class in the email (e.g., 'Jeff plans to come to 6:30 a.m. tomorrow for his first session with Coach Andy').
5. Assist with App Registration
Help the athlete download and navigate the app.
Show them how to reserve their spot in the class (e.g., selecting the 6:30 a.m. session and clicking 'reserve').
6. Follow Up After First Class
Check the app to confirm the athlete attended their first class.
Text the coach for feedback on the athlete's performance.
7. Send a Congratulations Message
Send a positive message to the athlete after their first class (e.g., 'Congratulations on your first class!').
Ask them about their experience and encourage them.
8. Encourage Future Attendance
Ask the athlete when they plan to attend their next class.
Reinforce accountability by checking in with them and other coaches.
